safety & security glass

Stevenson glass provide a specialist glazing service that includes laminated, toughened and fire resistant glass

what is laminated glass?

Laminated glass is two or more sheets of annealed or heat treated glass bonded together using interlayers. Its most significant feature is that if the glass fractures on impact, the fragments will remain bonded to the interlayer, minimising the risk of injury from flying glass and maintaining the protective barrier

Stevenson glass supply and fit the following types of laminate in compliance with the appropriate building regulations :

  • laminated manual attack resistance

  • laminated bullet resistance

  • laminated explosion resistance

  • laminated solar tinted/coated

  • laminated acoustic glass

what is toughened glass?

Toughened glass is glass that has been modified by thermal treatment to give safety and strength with an improved resistance to heat . Toughened glass also has a high strength to weight ratio and if fractured will break into small relatively harmless fragments

Here are the types of toughened glass we supply and fit in compliance with the appropriate building regulations :

  • toughened clear glass

  • toughened textured glass

  • toughened etched glass

  • toughened tinted glass

  • toughened solar control coated

  • laminated double glazing

  • laminated decorative glass
